About Scam Lookup

Scam Lookup is a free tool that answers a very common question: can I trust this website? It combines nine independent scanning modules — DNS, RDAP, SSL, HTTP, security headers, robots & sitemap, technology fingerprint, content transparency and email security — into an explainable trust score.

Everything is public data

We do not use paid intelligence feeds, we do not partner with commercial blocklists, and we do not sell your search history. Every signal is retrieved from a public source: Cloudflare's DNS-over-HTTPS, RDAP registries, the Certificate Transparency log via crt.sh, and live HTTP fetches. If we can see it, you can see it — every finding in the report links back to the raw signal that produced it.

Deterministic scoring

Each scanner emits findings with an explicit points value and weight. Findings are grouped into six categories — Security, Infrastructure, Transparency, Content, Email, Performance — and each category is scored 0–100. The overall trust score is the weighted average. No randomness, no hidden model.

What this tool cannot do

Trust signals are not the same as malware detection. A site can have great trust signals and still be compromised, and a legitimate small business may have several missing signals. Use Scam Lookup alongside your browser's safe-browsing, a reputable ad blocker, and common sense.
